Lake of Bays Northern Pike Spawning Observations 2006

Northern pike is a recent introduction to Lake of Bays and no information exists on the status of the population. A northern pike (Esox lucius) spawning survey was conducted on Lake of Bays in the spring of 2006, through a partnership involving The Andrew Daniels Fish Stewardship Foundation (ADFSF), the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (OMNR) and the Township of Lake of Bays. The objective of this study was to document locations that have suitable habitat for northern pike and record evidence of spawning fish.
